Understanding STC Ratings

How Much Sound Does It Really Block? (STC Explained)
STC (Sound Transmission Class) is a standard rating that measures how well a material or assembly blocks airborne sound. The higher the number, the more sound it blocks.
25–35 - Moderate - Basic interior wall
40–50 - High - Quiet bedrooms, offices
50+ - Professional - Studios, theaters, clinics
EnviroFlex™ MLV has been lab-tested to improve STC ratings when installed correctly in walls, ceilings, or vehicles. When used in a standard wall assembly of 2x4's, drywall, and insulation, EnviroFlex MLV can help to achieve STC ratings of 55+.
