Mass Loaded Vinyl is a dense, flexible sheet material that adds mass to walls, floors, ceilings, pipes, and vehicles to help block airborne sound transmission.
EnviroFlex™ MLV is made from recycled vinyl and shipped manufacturer direct.
Sound is vibration. Adding dense mass makes a wall harder to move, helping reduce sound transmission to the other side.
These products solve different problems—acoustic foam cannot block sound through a wall.
Prevents sound from passing between rooms by adding mass.
Reduces echo inside a room. It does not block sound from entering or leaving.
The standalone STC rating is the starting point. A complete wall assembly performs significantly better.

MLV can be installed inside wall, floor, ceiling, vehicle, and pipe assemblies.
Sound is vibration. A lightweight wall vibrates easily and transmits that vibration to the room on the other side. MLV adds dense mass that resists vibration — significantly more energy is required to move a wall with MLV than one without it.
