Great Material For the DIY Sound Booth

This roll was a great addition to my recording booth! This coupled with my acoustic panels helped reduce the bleed in and out of sound. This does not have any adhesive but construction adhesive (like liquid nails) works or even staples and tacking nails would work. Instructions give recommendations.it works as expected and I don't have anything negative to add to this product. It comes with plenty material for a reasonable sized booth. All around it's a GREAT product at a great value

Quiet Rooster

Great for keeping rooster quiet in early morning. Instead of him crowing loudly at 5am. I don't let him out of coop until 8am. Neighbors happy..just a muffled sound now

Used to lower traffic sound in a fence

I've got a heavily traveled road behind my house. It has grown increasingly noisy over time. I needed to replace the fence and decided to create a fence sandwich with mass loaded vinyl in the center. This MLV is 1/4" thick and with a sound rating of 32 noticeable decreased sound transmission. It was easy to cut the pieces to fit and screw them to the fence. It weights 2 lbs per square foot and is heavy and cumbersome to work with. But, the weight is necessary to reduce the sound. I did increase the fence posts to 4x6 instead of 4x4 because I was worried about the weight. But, I'm very happy with the result.

The Thick Stuff

This MLV is dense enough that we're using it on a portion of the floor in a contemporary dance studio (main floor is Marley, this is around the edges). It tapes easily with vinyl tape to make joints. We're using thick gaffer's tape on the outside edge to hold it all down.
There's no obvious smell or off gassing, which is nice, because dancers will complain if there's even a hint of odor.
Pricing is better than I've seen other places. So long as you know that it's not the only solution, but a piece of a puzzle to sound proofing, I think you'll be happy.

Odor-free 2 LB per Square Foot Mass Loaded Vinyl Soundproofing

The Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) is a specially designed material with no smell to be used as a soundproofing barrier. The reviewed piece measures 1/4 inch thick by 4 feet wide by 12 feet long 4' x 12', total 48 SF weighting 96 pounds, so may need two people to lift. Easy to cut and install. The 2lb/SF is thick heavy and with high Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating 32. Well-made, good value for money.

The Real Deal in Sound Deadening

I got this MLV (mass loaded vinyl) to use in soundproofing my home studio. It's just one layer of a multi-layered system to keep outside noise out and inside noise in. The MLV is dense. Heavy. Once open, it rolls out easily. Cuts easily with any knife. It can be sized easily and hung with just a staple gun. I used a (nonprofessional) app to measure echo resonance time and it took it down from 1250ms to 860ms by covering one wall with it.
