EnviroFlex™ 1 LB Mass Loaded Vinyl is manufactured by EnviroFlex, a Quebec-based producer of recycled rubber and vinyl products. When you buy from Sheets & Rolls, you're buying directly from the source — no distributor, no middleman, no markup stacked on top of someone else's margin. The same commercial-grade MLV used by acoustical contractors on professional installations is available to you at trade pricing.
Mass loaded vinyl works on a simple principle: sound transmission through a wall, floor, or ceiling is directly related to the mass of that assembly. Heavier surfaces transmit less sound. MLV adds mass in a thin, flexible, limp layer — dense enough to meaningfully block airborne noise, flexible enough to install on irregular surfaces, in vehicle door cavities, and behind finished wall assemblies without requiring structural modifications.
EnviroFlex 1LB MLV carries a 26 STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating, which corresponds to a reduction of approximately 20 dB in airborne sound — enough to reduce loud conversation to barely audible levels through a treated wall or ceiling.
Cut to size with a standard utility knife — score and snap, or cut cleanly in a single pass. Fasten to wall studs or ceiling joists using screws with large fender washers, cap nails, or construction adhesive. The material is flexible enough to drape over curves, wrap around corners, and fit inside irregular cavities. Seal all seams and perimeter edges with EnviroFlex MLV Seam Tape to maintain the acoustic barrier. Ships rolled — unroll and allow 15–20 minutes to relax flat before cutting.
| Density | 1 lb per square foot |
| STC Rating | 26 |
| Thickness | 1/8" (0.125") |
| Color | Black |

Built to add practical protection, weight, structure, or performance depending on the product application.
Designed for straightforward cutting, fitting, fastening, or placement using common tools.
Useful across residential, commercial, fleet, shop, and jobsite applications.
MLV works by adding dense, flexible mass to the wall system. The standalone STC rating matters, but the bigger result comes from how the material performs as part of a complete wall, ceiling, or enclosure assembly.
For this product, STC 26 gives shoppers a simple way to understand the material’s sound-blocking capability before installation.
MLV is most effective when combined with drywall, insulation, sealed seams, and proper mechanical fastening.
Sound travels through weak points. Seal seams, edges, outlets, and penetrations to get the best result from the system.
Important: STC results depend on the full assembly, including framing, insulation, drywall layers, sealed seams, penetrations, and installation quality.
Use as a barrier layer in wall assemblies where added mass helps reduce sound transfer.
Add material above or below ceiling assemblies to support better noise control between spaces.
Cut to fit vans, cars, service vehicles, and other mobile spaces that need added sound control.
Confirm the surface, space, vehicle floor, stair, or installation area before cutting or ordering accessories.
Use a straight edge and sharp utility knife where trimming is needed, or align the product before final placement.
Fasten, tape, drill, adhere, or drop the product into place depending on the product type and application.
Inspect seams, edges, fitment, coverage, and surface contact before putting the area back into service.
